📍 Introduction
In 2021, Beamo took the stage at AWE—one of the world's largest AR/VR events—with a bold question:
"What if a robot could autonomously walk through a facility, capture 360° images, and share them with remote teams in real-time?"
At the time, this was merely a conceptual vision.
But today, three years later, that vision is becoming reality on the ground.
🤝 Partnering with Mobilio: From Vision to Execution
Through our latest collaboration with robotics company Mobilio, Beamo has successfully demonstrated a workflow that integrates autonomous mobility and 360° spatial scanning.
By combining Beamo’s intuitive and collaborative 3D visualization platform with Mobilio’s robotic mobility and mapping capabilities,
we’ve built a scan process that requires minimal human intervention—and moves one step closer to full automation.
⚙️ Project Overview: 4-Step Workflow
Step 1: Point Cloud Mapping
Mobilio’s quadruped robot autonomously navigates the site and generates a high-resolution LiDAR-based point cloud map.
Step 2: Teaching (Waypoint Setup)
Using the generated map, scan points are defined in advance on the Beamo platform and transmitted to the robot.
Step 3: Assisted Auto Scanning
The robot autonomously follows the predefined path and captures 360° images at designated points using Beamo's camera.
Step 4: 3D Visualization in Beamo
Captured data is uploaded to the cloud and automatically rendered into Beamo’s interactive 3D view, enabling immediate collaboration.
